Coronavirus Health Notice

Discounted from $140 to $125

I know we are all looking forward to getting back to working together in person at the studio again. To provide everyone with as much comfort and confidence as possible when coming to Actors Lab Philly, we want to highlight our new cleaning and safety protocol.

  • Please wash your hands immediately prior to and following all classes/appointments. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the Actors Lab as well.
  • Actors Lab coaches will wear protective masks. We ask that you do the same while inside the Actors Lab, restrooms, and building itself – other than when acting in scenes or audition drills.
  • Social distancing will be practiced.
  • Actors Lab will be increasing our disinfecting procedures before/after every class/service.
  • We will conduct no-touch temperature checks of everyone entering the Lab (subject to requirements established by local or state governmental authorities).

Personal responsibility is important for everyone’s safety and peace of mind. With everyone’s health and safety top of mind, please uphold the following:

  • If you show symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home.
  • If you’ve been exposed to someone with COVID-19, please stay home for 14 days and get tested before returning.
  • Stay home if you are feeling ill.
  • If you’ve traveled out of state or have been at an event with more than 25 people, please stay home for 14 days.
  • Bring your own water/snacks, as these will no longer be provided.
  • Actors Lab Philly is asking everyone to print out and sign their personal responsibility and liability waiver before coming back to the studio, and to either send it in or bring it with you on the first day back.
  • Bring and wear a mask while inside and while not working on a scene or audition.

We are slowly and safely getting back to our in-person audition drills, self tape sessions and acting classes. Of course, all of this will all be a work in progress and contingent on changes from local and state government as well as Department of Health regulations.

For July and August, we are looking at a hybrid of Zoom and in-person classes. Meaning, half of the month we will stay on Zoom (Zoom is very practical given the state of things for the foreseeable future). For the other half of the month, we will meet in person at the studio. For those people who are not comfortable coming to the studio in person yet, we will have Zoom at the studio during those classes.

We will start getting back to the Lab with audition drills starting in August. We will only have 2 to 3 people in the studio at one time during audition drills, and everyone will be rotated (but others can watch and listen through the windows). We will be working in the outer room with the windows open for fresh air. When you’re finished, you are free to hang around at a safe social distance or go home. All auditions will be filmed and emailed.

When we get back to our group classes (thinking end of July-August, but it will be determined by everyone’s willingness to show up), class size will be limited to 8-10 actors, and seating will be spaced out for social distancing. For larger groups, we can rotate and have two groups/classes and shorter times. We may even experiment with having class outside in the parking lot for the evening classes.

This is all a huge unknown work in progress for everyone, so we appreciate everyone’s patience. As to when we will get back to regular classes, that will be determined by what’s happening with COVID-19 and people‘s comfort level and willingness to come back to class in person. In the meantime, I am very very grateful that we are able to stay connected and have class over Zoom, and that it serves the reality of what’s happening in the business right now.
